Ants are one of the most organized and synergystic groups around. Referred to by biologists as a super-organism
because they function with such precision, every ant working for the good of the team. Ants are excellent
communicators and the successful techniques used by ant colonies have been widely studied, especially in
computer science and robotics, to produce distributed and fault-tolerant systems for solving problems.

Guardant is very similiar. We are here to protect you and your assets, systematically guarding you against fraud
and loss...But that is not how our name came about.

According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, GUARDANTis the present form of garder, meaning to guard. The
meaning we were drawn to when chosing a name for our company was closer to the second definition
offered; forward looking. We look to the future, safeguarding your investments and retirement.

But the name Guardant is cumbersome initially. In an effort to keep Guardant separate and distinct from other
'guardians', we were explaining it was spelled GUARD ANT. The more we learned about ant colonies,
the more we learned how much Guardant had in common with these super-organized, highly communicative,
optimized models for work ethics... and so the Guard Ant was born.
